Privacy Policy

App: MIO — Campus Life Organizer / Effective date: July 13, 2026 / Updated: July 14, 2026

“MIO” (the “App”) is a campus-life management app provided by misoclub (“we”, “us”). We respect your privacy and set out this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) as follows. The App includes features to share information with friends, and uses the cloud (Google Firebase) for that purpose.

1. Accounts (anonymous authentication)

To enable sharing with friends and syncing across devices, the App assigns each user an anonymous identifier (a random ID) using Google Firebase Anonymous Authentication. No sign-up is required, and we do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.

2. Information stored on your device

Information you enter or record (timetable, assignments, exams, attendance, schedules, part-time shifts and wage settings, to-dos, diary, job-hunting company notes, circle information, and settings such as notifications and theme) is stored primarily on your device. Summaries and charts are computed from these values on your device.

3. Information stored in the cloud and shared

When you use the friends and sharing features, the following information is stored in our cloud (Google Cloud Firestore) and shared with specific people based on your actions. You decide whether and with whom to share.

If you remove (block) a friend, that person can no longer retrieve your public information.

4. Push notifications

The App uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to notify you of others’ actions, such as friend requests, event/circle invitations, and announcements. For this purpose, a per-device notification token is stored in the cloud. Notification content is generated and sent by our server-side function (Cloud Functions), which references the shared information above only to the extent needed to compose the notification text.

Reminders based on your own data (assignment deadlines, exams, before class, and a morning summary) are local notifications generated on your device.

5. Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers (Advertising ID) and device/usage information to deliver and measure ads. Such information is handled in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.

The App offers a paid feature (in-app purchase) to remove banner ads. Once purchased, banner ads are no longer shown. Purchases and payments are processed by the App Store (Apple) / Google Play (Google); we never obtain or store your payment information such as credit card numbers.

6. Third-party services we use

The App uses the following third-party services (all provided by Google LLC):

Data handling by these services follows Google’s Privacy Policy above.

7. User-generated content, reporting, and blocking

For content shared between users, such as circle announcement posts, you can report it to us via “Report content” in Settings. You can also stop receiving a person’s shared content by removing (blocking) them. We review reports and take action as necessary.

8. Disclosure to third parties

Except as required by law, we do not disclose your information to third parties without your consent. Sharing with friends and circle members is always based on your own actions.

9. Deleting your data

You can delete both the data on your device and your data stored in the cloud via “Delete all data” in Settings. Uninstalling the App removes the data on your device.

10. Children’s privacy

The App does not collect information targeted at a specific age group. If a child uses the App, please do so under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

11. Security

We take appropriate security measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of the information we collect and store.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may revise this Policy as needed. If there are significant changes, we will announce them on this page. The revised Policy takes effect when posted here.
